Flashes win MAC Women's Golf Championship

Kent State won its 14th straight MAC Women’s Golf Championships Sunday in Fisher, Ind., by 16 shots over second-place Ball State.

Mercedes Germino led the Golden Flashes, coming in third in the individual standings with a three-day total of 8-over par 224, two shots behind medalist Jenna Hague of Ball State.

Teammates Jennifer Ha, Erin Hawe and Shamira Marshall each tied for fourth place at 229.
The Akron women concluded the season with a fifth-place finish with a three-day tally of 961.

During the postseason awards ceremony, Kristen Hill was named First-Team All-MAC for the third consecutive season after being named Second Team as a freshman.

Three of the five Zips’ players finished inside the top 25, led by Katie Jenior to finish in 13th place (231), with Hill finishing tied for 14th (239) and Amanda Butler finishing tied for 23rd (242).
