Residential housing village to be constructed on Rootstown campus

By Beacon Journal staff

ROOTSTOWN: Trustees for the Northeast Ohio Medical University selected Signet Development of Akron as the developer for the residential housing village to be constructed on the Rootstown campus.

The housing village is the lead component of the $130 million campus expansion project now under way.

Groundbreaking for the housing project will be in June with an estimated completion date of August 2013.

The 270,000-square-foot village will be composed of three four-story buildings with almost 350 single and double, fully furnished rooms for medical students.

It will be the first housing on the campus.
