Kent State University’s Institute for Applied Linguistics will welcome guest speaker Lawrence Venuti, a lauded translation studies scholar, at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15. The public is encouraged to attend this free event.
This is the Institute's fourth annual Gregory M. Shreve Lecture Series, which recognizes the work of Greg Shreve, founder of the Institute for Applied Linguistics, and brings top translation studies scholars to the school to talk to graduate students and faculty.
Venuti is an English professor at Temple Universit, as well as a historian and translation theorist. He has translated Italian, French, and Catalan, and has authored numerous books.
