By Ohio.com staff

The sun will now be the main power source for a Franklin avenue.

The non-profit organization, Kent Cooperative Housing, Inc., installed solar panels on the Franklin Avenue house, according to Kent Patch.

The group spent $17,000 to install the 14-panel solar array on the two-story, four-bedroom home.

Kent Cooperative Housing owns three Kent houses and has invested $30,000 to install double-pane windows, high efficiency furnaces and wall insulation in all three houses, according to Patch.
