The Akron Beacon Journal’s Newspaper in Education program will team up with Akron Children’s Hospital to bring children’s books to those in need.

The Reach Out and Read program at Children’s Hospital is seeking new and gently used children’s books. Doctors, nurses and other medical professionals use Reach Out and Read’s program at regular pediatric checkups, advising parents about the importance of reading aloud to their children.

Drop off your children’s books July 28 through August 26 at the Akron Beacon Journal Kiosks at Summit Mall and Chapel Hill Mall or at the Akron Beacon Journal Public Service counter located in downtown Akron.

New books are needed for children up to age 5-years-old and gently used books are being accepted for children of all ages.
