The Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Click It or Ticket campaign begins on Monday and runs through June 2.
The campaign is used to raise awareness for National Seat Belt Enforcement and highlights how critical a seat belt can be for a driver. According to the ODPS, one in five Americans fail to regularly wear a seat belt while driving or riding in a motor vehicle.
Local police departments encourage citizens to be aware of the seat belt laws, especially with increased road traffic during the summer months. Concentrated seat belt enforcement efforts will take place during the week long effort, while local law enforcement will encourage seat belt use.
