What started as a hobby over 18 years ago for Dusty Rhodes has evolved into the opening of Mr. D’s Market located at 6689 SR 43 in Franklin Township. Known for their signature product, fresh sausage that is made daily, the market also has hand-cut beef, pork and chicken available as well as an impressive selection of cheeses and deli meats.

Dusty, who is born and raised in Kent and a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School, couldn’t be happier about how business has been in just the few weeks the market has been open.

“We have been very well received in the community,” said Rhodes. He added, “Business has been very good and we’re looking forward to being here a very long time.”

Rhodes was joined by members of his family and friends for the official ribbon cutting celebrating the grand opening of Mr. D’s Market. Also in attendance were Franklin Township Trustees, Keith Benjamin, Mark Beckwith and Gary Falstadt, Kent Mayor Jerry Fiala and Kent Area Chamber of Commerce board members, Paul Organ and Don Leeper.

Mr. D’s Market is open Monday through Saturday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.
