Former Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber president William R. Monbeck died Sunday after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

“Bill will be truly missed,” the Chamber said in a statement via e-mail.

Monbeck opened his real estate company, Bill Monbeck Realty in 1979, which he operated until 2010. He then took on the role of Director of Commercial Operations at Keller Williams Chervenic Realty.

An avid believer of community service, Monbeck not only served on the Chamber of Commerce, but also the Stow-Munroe Falls Board of Education, Stow-Munroe Falls Rotary Club, and the Blue and Gold Club of Kent State.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Karen (Braidic), daughters Julie (Andrew) and Erin (Troy), his precious grandsons, Finn and Kellen, his brother Donald, and the many special members of the Braidic family.
Calling hours will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m on Thursday at Redmon Funeral Home. A memorial mass will begin at noon on Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The GriefCare Place, 4499 Darrow Road, Stow, Ohio 44224 or Heart to Heart Communications, 40 University Avenue, Akron, Ohio 44308.
